First-half goals from Mark Millar and Tom McManus helped 10-man Falkirk keep their faint promotion hopes alive with a 2-1 win at already-relegated Stirling.

The Bairns, who were lucky not to fall behind early on, took the lead eight minutes before the break, Millar stroking home a penalty following Scott Robertson's foul on Brian McLean.

It was 2-0 four minutes later, McManus taking Stewart Murdoch's pass before firing home from inside the penalty area.

Stirling pulled one back after 53 minutes as Gordon Smith latched on to Brian Allison's flick on to head home from close range.

Falkirk looked set to see out the win comfortably until Stephen Kingsley was sent off for a professional foul on Michael Doyle two minutes from time.

That set up a tense finish, although the visitors held on to claim the points.
