First blood fell to the visitors when Stephen Bowey ran at Falkirk defender Kevin James and slotted the ball to the right which found Derek Lyle who converted.
The second came two minutes later before the crowd had even time to draw breath.
Paul Burns' cross ball into the box saw Falkirk keeper Allan Ferguson failing to gather and Brian McLaughlin scored from close in.
Falkirk opened their account three minutes later when Australian striker Daniel McBreen crossed the ball into the box and found Pedro Moutinho who slotted home.
Seven minutes later the home side leveled the game when Darryl Duffy crossed the ball form the far side which found McBreen who slipped it in from close range.
McBreen got his second three minutes before the break after John O'Neil cleverly beat two defenders and found the head of the in-form marksman.
Falkirk's fourth goal came in the 73rd minute when McBreen again received a pass from Duffy and his low drive found the net for his hat-trick.
