Falkirk kept their slim promotion hopes alive with a 2-0 win over 10-man Partick at the Falkirk Stadium.
Tom McManus, who had an earlier effort saved by Thistle goalkeeper Scott Fox, gave the Bairns the lead three minutes into first-half stoppage time when he got on the end of Mark Stewart's cross to slot home from close range.
Partick were almost level eight minutes into the second period when Paul Cairney's long-range free-kick hit a post.
However, their hopes of a leveller were ended when David Rowson was sent off for a second bookable offence 15 minutes from time.
Falkirk, who are now six points behind First Division leaders Dunfermline, made the game safe in injury time, Stewart converting from just inside the penalty area.
