Falkirk 0-0 Cowdenbeath: Match Report - view commentary, squad, and statistics of the game as it happened.Bairns edge cup shootoutFalkirk progressed in the Scottish League Cup after edging out fellow Championship outfit Cowdenbeath 4-3 on penalties after a goalless 120 minutes.Falkirk probably just shaded an uneventful first period, but Liam Dick's powerful drive went straight into the gloves of Thomas Flynn, while Lewis Milne flashed a shot just wide for the Blue Brazil.Flynn did well to save an Olumide Durojaiye volley early on in the second half, while Sean Higgins almost put Cowdenbeath ahead when hitting the crossbar from 25 yards out and Kyle Miller looked through on goal until Will Vaulks got back to recover, but it remained goalless at the end of normal time.Rory Loy had the chance to break the deadlock with a penalty in the first half of extra-time after being brought down by Nat Wedderburn, but blasted over the crossbar and a shoot-out was required to decide who would advance.The first three penalties from Higgins, Rory Boulding and Milne were all saved and after six straight scores, Falkirk hit the crossbar to force sudden death, when MacDonald saved again from Craig Johnston before Craig Sibbald sealed a 4-3 success for the Bairns
