An early Craig Forsyth goal proved enough for Dundee to claim a 1-0 win over 10-man Falkirk in an ill-disciplined match.
The midfielder headed the only goal from close range in the eighth minute after connecting with Gary Irvine`s cross.
It came after the home side, who are currently bottom of Scottish Division One, peppered Falkirk`s goal in the opening minutes.
Marc Twaddle cleared Craig McKeown`s header before Falkirk `keeper Robert Olejnik saved Forsyth`s shot in the fourth minute.
Forsyth then came close again five minutes before the break but failed to double the score as his header was wide.
There were seven yellow cards in the game, six for the visitors, with Falkirk`s Carl Finnegan seeing red in the 68th minute for his second bookable offence after he handled the ball.
The win sees Dundee close the gap with Stirling at the bottom of the table to one point.
