The Irn-Bru First Division side led at the interval through goals from substitute Mark Stewart and Carl Finnigan and with Jambos' defender Craig Thomson sent off after appearing to kick out at Finnigan when they clashed on the touchline, it looked a long away back for the Gorgie side. But in a dramatic fightback, Kevin Kyle reduced the deficit from the spot in the 66th minute and Suso Santa levelled before Kyle headed the visitors into the lead.
However, Ryan Flynn equalised and with seconds of the three added minutes remaining and with extra time looming, Stewart knocked in a dramatic winner after Brian McLean had headed back a Jack Compton corner. And Pressley said: "What a game of football. My word. But you've got to give Hearts enormous credit, they were 2-0 down at half-time and down to 10 men."
He added: "It would have been easy to go under but they showed unbelievable spirit to get back into the game and so did we.
"When Hearts found themselves on top we showed tremendous spirit and mentality.
"Even in the second half we were passing it and creating opportunities but were trying to rush it.
"But it was a wonderful cup tie. You won't find a more exciting or intriguing one than you saw last night."
