The Bairns must win at Kilmarnock on Saturday to preserve their Clydesdale Bank Premier League status and instead condemn the Rugby Park side to the drop.
He said: "We are extremely positive. I think sometimes these types of games are easier played away from home. There is not the same degree of expectancy about them. We'll go there in real confident mood and certainly ready for the game."
He added: "When I took over, I'd have certainly rather had it sorted (staying up) by now but, honestly, I'm looking forward to the game.
"It's going to be a fantastic occasion. I'm sure it'll be a great attendance at the game and we'll bring a brilliant travelling support. I'm really excited by it and we know what we have to do.
"We know we have to win the game, that's clear in our minds. We have to just go and do that."
Pressley feels Portuguese striker Pedro Moutinho, who shone against Saints without netting, could make the difference this weekend.
He added: "Pedro has been exceptional for us, a talisman. He has been a wonderful character for us not only on the pitch but in around the dressing room. He has been terrific for me since I've taken over.
"At any given time he can make the difference. I've been delighted with him."
