Portuguese forward Moutinho, who has four goals in 12 starts in the top flight this term, is adamant there is a positive mood within the squad.
"You have to believe otherwise it is not going to happen for you," Moutinho told the Daily Record. "We know we need points but we are confident we will get them.
"I cannot put my finger on what it is and I do not have any proof we will stay up but I just feel that way. We all believe we will be fine."
The relegation run-in is not the first of his career for Moutinho, 30, who experienced a similar situation in his homeland with his old club Maritimo.
The striker has fond memories of that particular relegation fight, and he sees the same survival characteristics around him at the Falkirk Stadium.
"When I joined them (Maritimo) I only had one win all season and with eight games to go everyone said we were down," said Moutinho.
"We won four and drew one of those remaining eight games and managed to stay to stay in the Portuguese Premier League.
"I see the same spirit and desire at Falkirk so I have no reason to doubt we will not do it."
St. Johnstone 10/11, Draw 9/4, Falkirk 7/2
