Mark Durnan scores late winner for Dundee United

Mark Durnan scored an 82nd-minute winner as Dundee United continued their good recent form with a 1-0 victory over Falkirk at Tannadice.

Second-placed United had picked up 10 points from four games since going down 3-1 at Falkirk in September but it looked like they would fall further adrift of leaders Hibernian as the Bairns kept them at bay.

United striker Tony Andreu tested Danny Rogers early on and substitute Simon Murray was also denied by a good save from the visiting keeper in the second half.

Falkirk had their chances as well, with Luke Leahy failing to beat Cammy Bell after a defensive mistake, but it was United who would end up with the three points thanks to Durnan.

The defender fired past Rogers following a quick counter-attack to leave United still within three points of pacesetters Hibs, who beat St Mirren.
